Caption Competition
Open from 16th September - 31st October
Our new competition is “Old Skool” - All of us (at least those of us over the age of 40!) remember caption competitions and we are bringing back the format. Take a look at the image below of these Lesser Flamingo and Red-Knobbed Coots, shot at the Marievale Bird Sanctuary near the small town of Nigel in South Africa. It’s fair to say that this scene made me chuckle and I was pleased to get the shot.

The Prize
The winner can choose any image shared on the photos section of my facebook page;

The image of your choice will be printed on premium fine art paper.
Depending on the image chosen, I will print on either Hahnemuhle Photo Rag, Ilford Matt or Ilford Mono Silk Warm Tone, using the Canon Pro1000 and original premium inks.The size will also be dependent on the image ratio - for a standard 3:2 ratio the print will be approximately A4 in size with a small border.
The judges decision is final…blah, blah, etc.etc… ;-)

Belinda was the winner of the Quiver Tree print from our very first competition. As Belinda was our first winner and as she is local, I decided to print at A3, frame the print and deliver to her personally.

The Quiver Tree image was taken, by me, at the Tugela Gorge in the Drakensberg, South Africa on a NIkon D850 in July 2025
Our Latest Competition Winner
I will ship the print to the winner, at my cost, to anywhere in the world. Delivery times will vary and if you are lucky enough to live somewhere remote and exotic, I will prioritise cost over speed!
